Game #3 -- CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Joel Simon struck out Joe Byrum on a 3-2 count with the bases loaded and 2 out in the top of te 8th to preserve a 7-6 Red Sox lead, then retired the side in order in the 9th as the Sox won their 2nd title in a row, 8-6. Winning pitcher Pat Redican hurled the 1st 7 innings allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits. He walked none and fanned 7.

The morning started off very promising for the Royals as they beat the Mets 15-4.
Chris Bennett pitched like a champ, going the distance.
Offensively, the Royals were just as potent with Kevin Walton hitting a walk off 3 run double and finishing with 3 hits and 5 RBI.
Rick Kline, Jesse McKindley and andy Madec also each collected three hits.
