Pat Redican pitched a complete game allowing 11 H, 0BB, 3K. He also hit a 3-run homer in the 1st inning.
Fernando Garcia hit a 2-run homer in the 2nd and Jason DeWitt singled home 2 in the 4th for 2 of his 3 RBI.
Ryan Hickey: 3-for-4.

Red Sox:
Sox score 4 runs in 7th to take a 12-11 lead on a bases-clearing triple by Joel Simon and double by Fernando Garcia to score Simon. Simon then strikes out 5-of-6 in the 8th and 9th for the save.
Simon, Pat Redican, Garcia, Tom Reynolds, Todd Hickey, and, Bobby Martinez had 2 hits each in Game I.

This game had everything; drama, suspense, timely hits..
The Royals outlasted a never say die Astros squad and when the dust settled at bird's nest, err frogtown, err Rio Mesa, the Score was Roylas 7, Astros 5.
    Sean Kirkpatrick and Rob Hawbaker each had 3 run home runs and Ed Yates accounted for the other RBI; with his towering sac fly.
    Pitching wise, Kevin Walton, Dave(Ironman) Sirott, and Sean Kirkpatrick were dominating and Ed Yates turned in a sweet debut.
   Other notable; Chris Chruma, who finally came off the shelf after his devastating foot break, went 1 for 1.

The Royals took back part of Interstate 70 from the Cardinals today as the Royals blanked the Cards- 12-0.  Kevin Walton was dominant as he pitched 6 shutout innings, only giving up 6 singles, while striking out 5.  Offensively, it was a team effort with each Royal getting on base at least once.  Ed Jannone went 3 for 3 and Dave Sirott went 3 for 4 with 4 RBI.  Also Mick Baer was 3 for 4-2B, 4 RBI, 2 SB's

Both teams played good defense and had strong pitching.  The winning run was scored on a hit to center with two outs and runners on 1st and 2nd the outfield was drawn in to make the play at the plate.  B.Murdock 2for4 Winning RBI  R.Rosenthal 2for4 2Dbl. 3RBI  Strong pitching by D.Caraco for 7 inns. A Win for Casey.
The game was tight to the last out!!  Good battle was witnessed by the large crowd. The game ended with men at 1st and 2nd and 2 outs in the 9th as Bill "slug'm Murdock blasted the ball over the center fielders head. Ron Burke took a hard fought complete game to the ? last out. Daryle threw very well for 7 strong innings. The A's showed their new pitcher to close out the game. Rumer has it that he has "experience"!! Great Game
