It's a good thing that the JV field at Camarillo was unplayable and the game was played on the Varsity field, otherwise the 4 bombs that the A's hit off Padre pitching probably would have caused an accident or two on the 101.  But we had fun nonetheless....Way to swing the bats A's!

(The Brewers looked like a team getting ready for the play-off run to a championship as they crushed the Yankees. Every phase of the game was the difference in the victory at Pacifica High School. The Yankees difficulties at the plate is what kept the team from keeping pace with the opponent. The Yankees did have some bright spots; newcomer R.Mcdowell had a hit and displayed some good skills on the mound form long layoff.  Also, J.Hitchner finally made an appearance for the team as a pitcher.

Michael Reardon was Brooks Robinson-esque in the field and went 2 -3 at the plate, with a double and walk Will DeJesus also played a great game, going 3 for 4 with a walk and 3 RBI.
Other Royals notables;

The Yankees get a win and finally get the monkey, the gorilla,and the chimpanzee off of our backs.  An impressive eight innings of pitching by D.Woodard and a convincing closing by L.Vanderslice were the major defensive factors that helped the  Yankees defeat the Cardinals at Camarilla High School on Sunday.  Offensive player of the game A.Schaefer had a three hit day, and he drove in three runs. Other standouts include outstanding outfield work by Z.Severson and R.McDowell. Also, A.Puebla called a great game from behind the plate. Overall, It was an whole team effort.

A day that started with extra time spent working on the field, which lead to a great day to be playing a kids game. Thanks to everyone that allowed us to have so much fun! Despite the inability of the Yankees to score a run, tremendous strides have been made by players, who after being out of baseball for several years are gaining confidence as the season advances. Yankee standouts; Z.Severson for an impressive closing performance on the mound.  Also, nice fielding by J.Hitchner.

Great effort from all team players! Kudos for C.Bletscher, R.Franco, and C.Williams (on his birthday) for producing the offense, but the game ball goes to D.Long for timely hitting and all around play!
The Padres held the Astros to 4 runs for 7 innings, but today's game had 8 innings, and Pete Morin and Company put up 4 in their half of the 8th and held on to win.  The Padre defense continues to improve which is very encouraging here in the 2nd half of the season.  Great job by Seth Riley with another breakout effort at the plate and in the field!  Congratulations Astros!

 On the 65th anniversary of the fall of Corregidor; where General "Skinny" Wainwright was forced to surrender to General Homma, ending the Philippine campaign; the Royals and Mets played at Buena.  The Royals emerged victorious, backed with Eric Kinsey's strong pitching, holding off a late Mets surge by the score of 6-3. Ed Jannone nailed down the save.   Kinsey scattered 5 hits, giving up 2 earned. In addition to the win, he also hit a solo home run.   Other Royals notables included Rob Hawbaker, who continued his torrid hitting, going 3 for 3 in the process. Paul Deffenbaugh also added a late solo shot.

 This contest was over before it began.  The Dodgers used last weeks drubbing by the Cardinals to take out their anger against the Yankees.  With an arsenal of pitching and outstanding hitting, the Yankees were unable to score a run. Hats off to the Dodgers for being great sportsman, the game's score could have been worse than it was. Mentionable play for the Yanks was a great bounce back performance by pitcher Luke Vanderslice and nice corner play by J.Branham.

 Brilliant pitching was the factor today at Ventura College as Jesse McKindley went the distance and the Royals defeated the Rangers 7-3.   McKindley scattered 10 hits and struck out nine. The Purple Heart goes to Monte Zwirn, who took a beating behind the dish.   Ben Garay was effective and the Royals took advantage when they could.  Props to Ed Jannone who was 2-3 with 2 RBI and McKindley who went 2-4.

 Good pitching and hitting by the Cardinals, the Cardinals mercy the third place Dodgers.  Cardinals Catcher Oswaldo Trevino Triple with bases loaded on the fourth inning.

The third place Dodgers mercy them selfs with allowing 12 errors and 15 walks. My buddy's son's little leage team could have beat us on a sunday.  We just did not show up to play at all, but what do you do when you have the worst day possible and your oponent has a good day? you get your a_ _ kicked thats what and we deserve no less. Good game cards we'll be looking foward to our next meeting.

 The Tigers took advantage of a disasterous first iinning for the Yankees and went on to win the contest.  The Yankees could not ovecome decent hitting and effective pitching by the Tigers.  No outstanding play by the Yanks worth mentioning.  Still working to get the monkey off of our backs.

the Yankees had to contend with too many hot bats and outstanding defense and were defeated by the Brewers.  Despite a lack of firepower, coupled with fielding errors, the Yankees had good performances from starting pitcher, D.Woodard and great middle relief from J.Branham. Thanks to A.Schaefer, the team avoided a shutout.
