The Angels held off an extremely determined A's squad and won by the score of 17-12. Chris Bennett got the complete win and also went two for three at the plate. Here's how the Angels fared at bat: Ed Yates smacked a two run shot and added another RBI and a walk. Bryan Peck was 4 for 4 with two doubles and 3 RBI. Sean "U2 Rules" Kirkpatrick continued his great hitting going 3 for 5 with two RBI. He is also 11 for 14 in the last three games. On a wonderful Father's Day spent partially at Ventura College, the Angels fought off a late Padres rally and held on for the win, 17-12. Ed Jannone pitched six great innings to earn the victory. On the sticks side; Kevin Walton went 4 for 5 with a double, 2 RBI and a rare stolen base. Sean, "The Irish" Kirkpatrick, went 1-5 with a base clearing triple, 3 RBI and 2 stolen bases. Red Sox: Kyle Gibson hurled a complete game 3-hit shutout walking 2 and striking out 16. The only run of the game came in the 5th inning, Jeff Johnson walked and, with 2 out, Mike Gray walked and Johnson came home on Fernando Garcia's single. Johnson went 2-for-3.

The Angels held off a late rally and beat the Astros 9-5. Eric Kinsey pitched 6 strong innings, stiking out 8 while giving up 4 hits. The Angels got out of the gate early, defeating the White Sox 11-2; on a very hot day at Cam High. Props to both teams for sticking it out and getting a little sun! Chris Bennett pitched 5 strong innings, giving up 4 hits. Ed Jannone finished the game, going three innings and allowing only 1 hit. On the sticks side, there were some standouts. Jesse McKindley, hobbled by an ankle injury, went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and a BB. Robert, "Chickenwing" Miranda went 2-4 with a double, BB and RBI Bryan Peck went 2-5 with a double and a run. After getting the uniform situation under control we are now the Brewers and will look like a complete team in about two weeks. Well the whole team decided to show up for the game but no one started to play until the fifth inning when we woke up and put up 7 runs. It turned into a nice victory.

Beautiful day at the yard, but the game ended in a tie 2-2. Spectacular game pitched by Dave Rose 9 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 13 K. Dave also drove in the game tying run in the 8th with a single up the middle. Dodgers bats were fairly quiet today: Alan Lovejoy 2-3 with 2 smashes that added up to 100 feet; Jim Dollar 2-4, RBI; Tony Madrigal and Jaime Palmer had one hit each.

The bottom line is if you dont play defence and you cant throw strikes you will be in for a long day. the cards did not take this game as much as we gave it to them. we not only shot ourselves in the foot.... we blew both our legs off. 7 errors and 6 walks that accounted for runs pretty much did us in. take the bad news bears syndrome out and we have a different game. good game redbirds see you next time
